The 3rd edition of the KB4girls Tour 2010 is rapidly approaching and set to take place in the tropical paradise of Maui, Hawaii from April 9 to 11. With its amazing kiteboarding conditions, the emerald waters of Maui promise a great venue for the event and offer participating girls a chance to bring their kiteboarding skills to the next level. The KB4girls Maui date is the first of three American events in the 2010 tour schedule, offering female kiters from around the United States the chance to join and learn from the champ.
The Kite Club Maui will be supporting the event as a local organizer to ensure the girls have everything they need, just as with last year's clinic with Kristin Boese on Maui. Gretta Kruesi will also be on the team for the KB4girls Maui clinic and will help promote the event as well as co-instruct and support Kristin during the event, which will be an important part of the camp.
But this event has even more to offer! To support the female athletes as much as possible and to offer the participants an amazing program and every reason to make their way over to Hawaii, KB4girls has teamed up with the Maui based water women program Butterfly Effect.
The Butterfly Effec organizes downwind runs for female athletes of all watersports and will be using the KB4girls clinic as a platform for their kiteboarding participants to prepare for their event in July.
Tatiana Howard, founder of the Butterfly Effect says: I am really excited to have KB4girls involved. I think the clinic Kristin is running will be perfect to get the girls ready and confident for our Butterfly Effect in July. I would encourage all kite girls to take part in the KB4girls clinic, learn new tips and tricks, and soak up all the advice. You will be able to enjoy The 4th Annual Butterfly Effect 2010 even more after this intensive training because you will be shredding down the north shore of Maui with new skills.â
More information about the Butterfly Effect can be obtained on their website: www.betheeffect.com
Kristin says: The Butterfly Effect and KB4girls share similar goals and visions and make a great match. Together we will be able to reach out to and support even more female athletes and give them the chance to ride with other females. I am so happy to have the Butterfly girls join in and am excited to teach them all they need for their downwind run later this summer.
To round up the program, girls participating in the KB4girls event on Maui will also have a chance to participate in an IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) instructor course starting on the April 12. In this course they will be able to obtain their IKO instructor license, which qualifies them for a dream job in one of the countless IKO centers around the world. Note: Due to the limited space on Mauiâs beaches this KB4girls event can only accommodate 20 participants in order to guarantee the safety of all riders. All those interested are urgent to book as soon as possible. Registration is open on www.kb4girls.com/schedule/usa-maui.html and will close on April 1. As usual the $30 registration fee will be donated to the Surfrider Foundation and towards the protection of our oceans and beaches.
